Designer Claire Mueller is currently completing a Bachelor of Design (Fashion) at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), following her graduation from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) with an Advanced Diploma in Live Production, Theatre and Events (Technical Production) - Costume. Her fledgeling label Darling James combines a love for the historical and theatrical with accessible, wearable fashion. It has a strong focus on fun, flirty clothing that flatters a traditionally curvy figure. Rejecting the jeans-and-tshirt mentality that has become the default for so many of her generation she strives to design clothing that inspires confidence and pride in appearance, while remaining versatile in function. Claire also works as a costume designer and a stylist which influences her approach to design. To see more of Claire's personal style visit her blog: www.harbour-master.blogspot.com |
